Attorney Cortney Stuart

Cortney M. Stuart grew up in Blue Ridge, Georgia, and considers her small-town roots a blessing. She graduated with honors from University of Georgia with degrees in political science, sociology and criminal justice. She received her law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law, where she was in the top eight percent of her class.

She is proud to provide legal guidance to the people in Pickens, Cherokee, Fannin and Gilmer counties, as well as the surrounding area. She also practices in Florida, Tennessee, and Washington, D.C., as well as in the federal court system.

Many clients call Ms. Stuart a "bulldog" in the courtroom. Being from Georgia, Ms. Stuart is proud to be called a bulldog because of her vigorous defense of her clients in court, as well as the homage to her alma mater. As a lawyer, she is always prepared (and usually over-prepared) for court. When not in private practice, she also works as a prosecutor for the nearby towns of McCaysville, Fairmount, and Resaca. From experience working on the client-side and the court-side, Ms. Stuart has developed a keen sense of having a strong presence in a courtroom setting. Yet she is always happy to negotiate or mediate with the other side if it is in the best interests of her clients. Ms Stuart has a keen sense of integrity and fairness that is present in all she does. She wants the best for her clients.

When not at work, she enjoys spending time with friends, family and her dog, a Labrador mix rescue she named Sugar. While she loves home and the mountains, she equally loves travelling and experiencing new cultures.
